Education

In my degree program, which at the time (early 2000s) in Spain lasted five years, I completed the first three years of Biology and the last two years of Biochemistry at the Universidad del País Vasco, in Leioa. After graduating with a degree in Biochemistry (2005; EQF·7, equivalent to a BSc + MSc degree), I obtained a Diploma de Estudios Avanzados (DEA, EQF·8) in Physiology (2007) in a Biochemistry laboratory that I joined as an intern during my fourth year of undergraduate studies.

In 2008 I moved to Madrid to work in a Neuroscience laboratory. I was interested in doing a doctoral thesis, so after this first experience in Neuroscience, I joined the Department of Psychobiology (September 2011) at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED), also in Madrid, where I did my doctoral thesis in Health Psychology. In 2014, I completed a three-month internship at the Donders Institute in the Netherlands, in the Department of Behavioral Neuroscience. I defended my thesis in mid-2019.
